Smito Solutions makes Matrix. This page says what Matrix collects, why, where it goes, and what you can ask us to do about it.

It describes Matrix only. Cyto and Smito One are separate products and say their own.

The tools work without an account

Every tool on Matrix — QR codes, barcodes, the GST calculator, sticker sheets — runs without an account, and what you type into one is not stored. A code is generated from what you entered and handed straight back to you.

Matrix does not ask for your location, does not use your camera or microphone, and has no app that could.

If you choose to sign in

Signing in is optional and exists for one reason: so the UPI tool can prefill what you would otherwise retype. Then we store:

Your email address, because it is how you sign in. There is no password — we email you a code each time.
Your mobile number, business name and UPI ID, if you enter them, to fill the UPI form in for you.

Your UPI ID is a payment address, not a credential. We never ask for a UPI PIN, a bank password, a card number or an OTP from your bank, and no part of Matrix has any reason to — treat anything that does ask as fraudulent.

How we measure use of the site

Two things, and we would rather name both than describe them vaguely:

Google Analytics, which tells us which tools people use. It is run by Google, sets identifiers in your browser, and sends what it collects to Google, including outside India. Google's handling of it is governed by Google's own terms, not ours. Blocking it in your browser costs you nothing on this site.
Our own page-view record, kept on our servers. It sets no cookie and stores no identifier we could use to recognise you again.

We do not advertise, do not sell your data, and do not build a profile of you.

Where it goes

What little we store sits on our servers, hosted in India. Two outside parties are involved besides Google above, both acting on our instructions: our cloud hosting provider, and an email delivery provider that sends your sign-in code and sees nothing else.

How long we keep it

Your profile is kept until you change it or ask us to close your account. Sign-in codes are short-lived and are discarded once used or expired.

What you can ask for

You can ask us for a copy of your data, for a correction, or for your account to be deleted. Write to support@smito.in from the address your account uses and we will act on it.

Matrix is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly keep an account for anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change what Matrix collects, this page changes with it and the date above moves. We will not quietly start collecting something this page does not mention.
